IAMCR's 2007 conference marked the association's 50th anniversary. It was held in Paris, France, the city where IAMCR was first created.

The conference theme was Media, Communication, Information: Celebrating 50 years of theories and practices.

the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization,
provided funding to support four reports prepared for IAMCR's 50th Anniversary
Conference in Paris in 2007. The four reports are now available for download from UNESCO's website.

So the usual structure of the off-year conference will not be totally respected. The afternoon of the last day will be reserved for celebratory events - part assessment of the past, part strategies and scenarios for the future.
