The Rural Communication Working Group of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) invites academic scholars and professionals in the field of rural communication to submit abstracts and proposals for panels for IAMCR 2023 to be held in Lyon, France, from 9 to 13 July (Lyon23), with an Online Conference Papers (OCP23) component from 26 June to 5 July.

The Collaborative Change Communication for Rural Development (CCComDev), an initiative facilitated by the UPLB-College of Development Communication, held the International Webinar on Advancing Rural Communication Services for Family Farming on 16 December 2022, 7:00 PM Manila time, via Zoom. Co-convened by the IAMCR-Rural Communication Working Group, the webinar featured speakers and panel from the University of Guelph, University of the Philippines Los Baños, University of Reading, University of Queensland, Comunica, and FAO. The study shows that the majority of farmers require information on crop production, seed availability, and fertilizer availability. This set of information allows farmers to take on the right action plan to maximize all of their available resources.
