Overview

Television production and online entertainment are expanding globally. With more and more channels and online platforms emerging, audiences are always expecting new content. BA TV Production equips students with technical skills to make high-quality TV programmes. It also helps students develop creative content targeting both domestic and international markets.

Whether you want to create a new reality show or a variety show, produce a game show, shoot a prototype show on location, or a magazine show in our studio, the BA TV Production programme will equip you with the industry know-how to achieve your career goals.

BA TV Production is an industry-focused programme. Throughout the studies, you will be involved with the development, pre-production, shooting, post-production, pitching, and directing of TV shows.

  • Use state-of-the-art facilities, including a multi-camera television studio, film studio, high-end edit suites, sound recording studio, dubbing and grading studio, and a 180-seat cinema

Knowledge and skills

By the time you graduate from the BA TV Production, you will have:

  • full awareness of your creative potential as a content developer and programme maker
  • the ability to take your knowledge and expertise into the television and media industry
  • knowledge of programme planning, project marketing, pre-production and production
  • the ability to research and critically analyse work from a market-oriented perspective
  • effective communication skills in presenting professional work
  • the ability to produce work that is informed by both longstanding theoretical issues and local and global market trends.
The BA TV Production develops students creative and critical thinking skills and applies them to programme production. Students develop a range of television and streaming media shows in our industry standard television studio as well as produce on-location shows such as game shows and variety shows. The programme prepares students to work in television, new media, or go into postgraduate studies.

Careers

Graduates will be well-prepared for positions in television, online platforms and the wider media landscape. Our alumni work in positions such as producer, director (location or multi-camera studio), writer, camera operator, vision mixer, floor manager, advertiser and digital media producer. Previous graduates work in large media companies, further their studies at top universities, or set up their own companies.
