Overview

With the rapid advancement of computing technology, there is an increasing demand in the dynamic and challenging environment of financial services, for a variety of tech-savvy talent to deliver business solutions on a global scale.

The MSc Financial Computing programme addresses market demand and will train you for advanced technical or managerial roles in new and emerging interdisciplinary areas that combine computer science and finance. You will graduate with the computational techniques and financial knowledge to deliver effective and innovative business solutions.

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering is equipped with specialist lab facilities for operating systems, networking, mobile computing and multimedia technology that will support your learning and research.

  • practical skills in research, analysis, realisation and evaluation of technical or research documents in financial computing.

The MSc in Financial Computing provides students with a thorough introduction to computing topics like programming, databases, and machine learning, while also offering a range of finance based modules, customised to suit the student’s background.

Modules


The university offers a broad range of activities aiming to enrich master students’ theoretical and experiential learning and professional development. Trainings, workshops and seminars, covering varieties of themes and topics, both generic and subject-specific, are often offered at both university and school/department levels. You may also be provided with opportunities to work as a teaching assistant, research assistant, or intern at XJTLU. Depending on the programme, field trips and company visits may be organized, and invited talks may be given by the industrial experts and professionals.
