The School of Mathematics and Physics is home to more than 90 staff members, over 2,500 undergraduate students, more than 200 master’s students and more than 50 PhD students.
The School equips students with a strong academic foundation as well as analytical skills, communication skills, programming skills, teamwork skills and practical problem-solving skills.
The academic staff are involved in cutting-edge research in different aspects of mathematics and physics, publish hundreds of research articles annually, have received governmental or collaboration projects, and train excellent research students.
The School of Mathematics and Physics integrates five related departments from the School of Science: Applied Mathematics, Foundational Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Financial and Actuarial Mathematics, and Physics.
