RESEARCH ENGAGEMENT AND INNOVATION OFFICE

INTRODUCTION:

The Research Engagement & Innovation Office (REIO) located within the Center of Administrative Affairs of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, is responsible for all external research engagement and innovation, and takes care of the supervision of the operations of innovations platforms (IIH, ITTC) and platforms funded by government. This includes oversight of XJTLU’s industrial grants and contracts portfolio, industrial research collaborations and partnerships, contractive research governance, industrial research-related policies and procedures, pre-award industrial research support, and finance related to industrial research activity.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee research outputs and apply for governmental/institutional awards.
• Research outputs transfer.
• Support the operation of industrial collaboration research and innovation platforms.
• Construct a healthy ecosystem for collaboration that involves industry, university, and research institute.
• Promote and supervise international collaboration projects.

PROFESSIONAL TEAMS:

REIO’s mission is achieved by the concerted efforts of its four teams.

• The Community and Industry Engagement Team is mainly responsible for the maintenance of industrial relations and business outreach. Our professionals also aim at expanding XJTLU’s networks with the industry and take charge of the operation of Suzhou Intellectual Property Operation Association.
• The Global Research Engagement Team mainly takes care of the application of international grants/awards and the operation of XJTLU’s client groups worldwide. The team also provides support for international collaboration projects.
• The Commercialization Team is in charge of the management and transfer of XJTLU’s research outputs. Our experts specialise in facilitating commercialisation, technology marketing, technology evaluation, and intellectual property management.
• The Innovation Units Support provides support for industrial collaboration research platforms and institutions.
