YEAR ONE ENTRY
1. Joint Entrance Examination
A minimum grade of 400 on the Joint Entrance Examination to Chinese Universities for Overseas Chinese Students and Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

2. Taiwan GSAT
General Scholastic Ability Test (GSAT) ranking of at least top 50 percent for 3-4 subjects, including English. For science and engineering programmes, Math is required as well.

3. HKDSE
HKDSE with 333 in relevant subjects, including 3 in English Language and Mathematics.
4. High School Diploma

1. HKDSE
HKDSE with 444 in relevant subjects, including 4 in English Language (with no component score less than 4) and Mathematics.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
YEAR ONE ENTRY
We welcome applications from high-quality candidates in all subjects with appropriate high school or equivalent qualifications. Students will normally be expected to have a high standing in their high school performance with a minimum B average in all subjects as well as relevant subjects.
YEAR TWO ENTRY
Students who have completed A-levels or International Baccalaureate (or equivalent) will be considered for entry into Year Two, different programmes have different subject-relevant requirements.
- A-level: BBB
- IB Diploma: 30 points
- AP Exams/ACT Tests/SAT II Subject Tests – High school diploma with a GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above, plus:
- 3 AP exams: 4, 4, 4 or
- SAT I: 1280 or ACT: 27, and 2 AP exams: 4, 4 or

NOTES:
1. BEng Architecture, BA Filmmaking, BA TV Production & BA Digital Media Arts: require a digital copy portfolio review and an interview with members of Departments of Architecture and Design & School of Film and TV Arts, which can be conducted in person or via the Internet.
2. BA International Business with a Language: normally international students study Chinese and Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan students study Spanish or Japanese as the language option.
- For year 2 entry international students, students who are Chinese zero beginners will take an extra 5 credits Chinese language course.
- For year 2 entry Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan students, students should be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of Spanish (DELE/SIELE A1) or Japanese (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test N5).
3. BA Translation and Interpreting: for international and HK/Macau/Taiwan students whose native language is not Chinese, an HSK level 6 or the pass of the aptitude test arrange by the Department of Translation and Interpreting is required.
4. Programme in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Design and Technology Science and so on require Mathematics and Physics.
5. Programme in Architecture, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Chemistry, Mathematics, Science and Digital Media Arts and so on require Mathematics.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
For international applicants, if you are a non-native English speaker, or if you have not previously studied in English, you must have satisfactory English language skills to study at XJTLU. Various English qualifications are accepted:
YEAR ONE ENTRY
- IELTS: 5.0 (min 4.5 in all sections)

YEAR TWO ENTRY
- IELTS 6.5 (min 5.5 in all sections)

English qualifications are not required for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who take the Joint Examination or the GSAT.
Students who are entering into Year One with less than IELTS 6.0 or equivalent in their English proficiency will take 10 credits EAP, and students with IELTS 6.0 or above will take 5 credits EAP.

Bachelor Degree in finance, accounting, economics, management, marketing, science or engineering, preferable to have knowledge of Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, and programming (Python, Matlab, R, Stata).

Bachelor Degree (UK2:1 or equivalent) in a related subject (such as digital media technology, electrical engineering, computer science and technology, mechatronics and robotic systems) from an accepted University or other Institute of Higher Education. Alternative qualifications and all non-UK qualifications which are equivalent to a UK science- or engineering-based honours degree may also be considered. In some cases, a good UK 2.2 honours degree may be considered if strong performance in relevant subjects is demonstrated or the applicant has relevant industrial experience.

It is essential, to have passed at least four ICAEW Certificate Level (CFAB) papers on entry. Equivalent degrees or papers are also acceptable if qualified as Credit for Prior Learning by ICAEW or ACCA. Students who have not completed CFAB will need to do so prior to seeking full membership of the ICAEW Applicants who do not have an equivalent UK degree in Accounting will also be considered if they have completed the six ICAEW Certificate Level (CFAB) papers or equivalent. Applicants with a professional background rather than a degree need to demonstrate relevant training record and working experience in an accounting and finance environment. Such applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by XJTLU Academic Affairs.

An English version portfolio is required, which should have an introductory table of content in which all projects are listed, with their title, their date, the context in which they were developed and the specific contribution of the candidate to the project. The portfolio should be saved in a PDF(max 10MB).

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT
If English is not your native language or if you have not studied in English at degree level, you will need to provide evidence of your level of English proficiency.
You should normally possess an appropriate onsite IELTS (Academic), TOEFL iBT, PTE (Academic) or equivalent score (Tests completed no earlier than 1 January 2021) as listed on each programme page.

**We do not accept MyBest Scores of TOFEL iBT or a combination of test scores taken at different times for any accepted English proficiency tests.
English Language exemption requirements
You will qualify for an exemption from the English language requirement if one of the following applies to you:
- You are a national of a majority English-speaking country:
Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, USA, UK
- You have fully completed/are completing a degree in a majority English-speaking country (Chinese joint venture programmes are not included). Your degree shall be conferred no earlier than 1 January 2021
- You have fully completed/are completing a degree which has been taught and assessed in English (Chinese joint venture programmes are not included), and your degree shall be conferred no earlier than 1 January 2021 with an English proficiency letter issued by the institution. The English proficiency letter should:
be typed and printed on institutional letterhead
bear the seal/signature of the issuing authority
indicate your degree has been taught and assessed entirely in English
- You have completed/are completing a degree from one of the universities listed below. Your degree shall be conferred no earlier than 1 January 2021:

Note: If you qualify for an English Language exemption and provide a valid IELTS/TOEFL iBT/PTE score when you submit application, we will access IELTS/TOEFL iBT/PTE score as evidence of your level of English proficiency.
If you miss the English language requirements by 0.5 of an overall IELTS band but meet the language requirements for the Pre-sessional English (PSE) Course(including minimum component scores or equivalents), you may be accepted onto the PSE course subject to Programme Director’s approval. Upon successful completion of the PSE course, you will be able to change your XJTLU Master’s offer letter to ‘Unconditional’ for English level.
Conditional offer holders
If you are a conditional offer holder, you can also send an email to pgadmissions@xjtlu.edu.cn to apply to take the onsite Password English language test provided by XJTLU in lieu of an IELTS/TOEFL or its equivalent.
Please note that the Password Test is only available to students who have been issued a conditional offer to study at XJTLU. In principle, the University provides one Password Test opportunity for each conditional offer holder.
Password English test fee: 500 RMB/per test/per person
The test fee payment manual will be included in the formal Password test notification.
The test schedule of the 2023 Password test will be available soon, and it will be released once the test schedule is confirmed.
