Professor Qinghua Zheng, who was born in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province, holds a PhD and is an expert in artificial intelligence. He is the winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education, one of the first leading talents in scientific and technological innovation of China’s national Ten Thousand Talents Programme, candidate of the national New Century Talents Project, and leader of the Innovation Team of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education. He is currently the Executive Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Deputy Director of the National Key Laboratory of Communication Content Cognition, and Director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education.
Professor Zheng is engaged in teaching and scientific research in the field of big data knowledge engineering, participating in the Knowledge Engineering Technology Centre and other projects of The Chinese Academy of Engineering, and is a member of the Advisory Expert Committee of the Department of Information Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China as well as the Expert Committee of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education. He also leads the National Teaching Group.
He has been awarded the Qiushi Outstanding Youth Award by the China Association for Science and Technology, the China Youth Science and Technology Award, Expert with Special Government Allowance of The State Council, the Special Prize for Outstanding Teacher of Baogang, the Outstanding Teacher of National Institutions of Higher Education, Google’s Chinese Outstanding Teacher Award, IBM’s Chinese Outstanding Teacher, National Advanced Talents in Information and Industry Science and Technological Innovation, and other honours.
He has made important research achievements in big data knowledge engineering and its application in intelligent education and intelligent taxation and won second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2006, 2010 and 2017, the Special Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of China Association of Automation in 2020, and first prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award at the provincial and ministerial levels four times. He won first prize of the National Teaching Achievement in 2005, second prize of the National Teaching Achievement in 2009 and second prize of the National Teaching Achievement in 2018. He has published three monographs in Chinese and English, earned 66 authorized invention patents and two US patents, and has authored more than 170 papers.
